I just returned From the State Convention, For those of you who did not attend, The 7th District was again for the 2nd year in a row the Outstanding District.  We have 5 posts in the running for All American and the District is well positioned for All American again this year also.  Thank you all for your hard work!!  Keep an eye on your division standings for those post in the running for All American only the top 35 posts will win it, and there is a lot of membership acceleration by post wanting to make it in the last few weeks of June, Good Luck to Savannah, Richmond Hill, Jesup, Douglas and Kingsbay Post!!!  I wish to thank you for allowing me to be selected as the Captain of the All State team of District Cdrs.  I am so proud of all of you and all the hard work you do each day.  the Gavel has fell ending the convention, so all your newly elected post officers are now in office, I need election reports from your posts so I have contact information and meeting days and times.  I would like to see our Posts and the District succeed this coming year as well or better than we did this year, there are a couple of District Commanders that have set there sights on knocking us out of first place next year, We are not going to let that happen!  Start now on programs, the on line reporting system will be up and running soon.  Get your chairmen identified for P/P VOD, Teacher, and EMT, Fire Fighter Police. Make plans now to attend GLT August 12, 13 & 14 at the Macon Marriott, that is worth a lot of points toward All State, your Cdr, Sr Vice, Jr Vice and QM along with the Service Officer should attend, so make plans now!  Again thank you for all you do and allowing me to be your Commander.

In Comradeship,

I wish to thank you for the district reaching 100% in Buddy Poppies. Now we need to turn our attention to attaining 100% plus in membership. I know your tired of hearing it, but we need it! We need it for congress to listen to us when the VFW goes to DC to visit all of our representatives, the more people we have in our organization the more we can accomplish. Currently the District stands at 93 and a smidgen %. The first District to reach 95% in the state gets $500.00 for the district coffers which we can use desperately. Help us help ourselves lets keep on trying to pick up our fallen comrades on the unpaid list as well as new members to our organization. You all did a fantastic job last year, and I know you can do it again this year. I expect nothing less of you! get the word out to the troops to recruit and get a hold of the people they know on the unpaid list, and get them back in good standing!
Thank you for all you do for Veterans, VFW and the District.

7th District Cdr.
