District 12 Cdr to present Public Servant’s Awards

Missouri 12th District Commander Ken Allison will have the pleasure of presenting 2 Florissant Police Officer National VFW Public Servant Awards.

TWO FLORISSANT POLICE OFFICERS TO BE PRESENTED THE NATIONAL PUBLIC SERVICE AWARD FROM THE VETERANS OF FOREIGN WARS 12TH DISTRICT COMMANDER KEN ALLISON

Mayor Thomas P. Schneider is pleased to announce that the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4105 will be honoring two Florissant Police Officers at 7:00p.m. Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at the VFW Post located at 410 rue St. Francois, during the intermission of the first Wednesday Night Out event which will start at 6:00 p.m. Mayor Schneider has been asked to be the guest speaker.  The Daughters of the American Revolution will say the Pledge of Allegiance and will be singing the Star Spangled Banner.

Officer Freddie Lee and Officer Kim Berry will be the two officers receiving this prestigious award. With the help of Police Chief Timothy Lowery, the Florissant VFW has entered these Police Officers for a National VFW Public Service Award. Officer Lee and Officer Berry finished in the top two for the State of Missouri. The State Department of the VFW forwarded their bios to The National Headquarters where they were both awarded The National Public Service Award signed by The Veterans of Foreign Wars National Commander in Chief, Brian Duffy. The awards will be presented by the VFW 12th District Commander Ken Alison. Please join us to honor these great public servants for all the hard work they do.

The May 31st Wednesday Night Out, “Proud to be an American” is sponsored by Florissant Old Town Partners and the City of Florissant, with hosts VFW Post 4105, Amore Pizza, The Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), Phancy Fingers and Feet & Boutique and Design-It.  The band Silver Wings will play again this year.  There will be food, drinks, snow cones, popcorn, photo booth, face painting, bean bag toss, raffle basket and more. Bring the family for a fun evening in Old Town Florissant.
