District 18 August 3, 2013 Meeting

Violent storms had squalled through the early morning and it was discovered at 6:00 a.m. by Post 3770 Commander Archie Daily that the electricity was out at the Mtn Grove VFW where the meeting was to be held.  CDR Daily called the Post 3770 Quartermaster who in turn called Se-Ma-No, the provider of electrical service for the post.  District 18 CDR Ed Hawley again called the QM at 7:00 a.m. as the power was still out.   The QM called back just before 8:00 a.m. and the power was still out so he once again notified Se-Ma-No and was informed that they were of the notion that it had been repaired but that another work order will be put in.  Finally just before 9:00 a.m. electrical service was restored and the lights and air conditioning were on.

Thirty-seven members of the VFW 18th District, thirty-two members of the Ladies Auxiliary 18th District and Department of Mo Sr-Vice Commander Chris Bell were able to start the meeting on time.  All posts in District 18 were present with only one post commander absent.
