Kennett VFW shows appreciation for 1137th at luncheon

It was a cold day with snow flurries but that didn’t deter the VFW Post 5443 in Kennett from preparing an appreciation luncheon for the soldiers of the 1137th Military Police Unit.

The luncheon which was given in their honor was held on Saturday, March 2, at the VFW building located on the south bypass in Kennett.

Cooking the meal for the soldiers were members of the VFW which included, Freddie Greenway, Mike Mowrer, Larry Pritchard, Jesse Wells, Steve Williams, Harry Turner and Jimmy Ingram. The meal consisted of steak, baked potato, beans and a beverage and was made possible by Schilp Dodge, a constant supporter, who contributed $500 towards the cost of the meal. This was made possible through proceeds received when the car dealership recently held a cell phone drive to go towards this luncheon.
