Prior to the starting of the rescheduled 2017 annual Heart of the Ozarks annual Independence Day Celebration on July 28, these photos of the VFW Post and Auxiliary booth were taken. Note the Buddy Poppy Display that took SECOND place in State and went on to National in New Orleans! Way to go Auxiliary!!!
Please note that the memorial grave stone depicted in of an Unknown U.S. Soldier from World War One. Ninety-nine years ago the United States was at war with Germany in the First World War. The so called, “War to End all Wars.”
Also note our MIA/POW Flag as we always remember those missing and unaccounted for from all of our Nations wars.
Our Post has been remembering and honoring Vietnam Veterans, and their families, over the past few years as part of the Department of Defense Vietnam 50th Commemoration Program. Let us never forget their service and sacrifice.
As the time neared for the Color Guard, opening ceremonies and the festivities to begin, additional Post Comrades and Auxiliary members arrived to participate and help. Thank You to all who were able to come out!
