US Congressman Jason Smith visits VFW Post 6280/Legion Post 99

US Congressman Smith visited the combined VFW Post 6280/American Legion Post 99 to receive recognition and an award for his recent support of our efforts to expand the Salem VA clinic to a full time Community Based Outreach Clinic (CBOC) on Wed, 19 Apr 2017.  He met with the Legion and VFW members, as well as SAL veterans.   We discussed some joint community service projects which received national and international attention to include our upcoming Kayaking for Epilepsy event on 25 Jun.  Congressman Smith asked that we apprise his office of any upcoming VFW/Legion events for the 8th US Congressional District.  The event was organized by Chaplain Richard LaBrash.  The local media was present.  Pictured is American Legion Commander Dennis Charland (left) US Congressman Jason Smith (middle) and VFW Post Commander E.
