VFW Mo Riders Memorial Day Ride

VFW Motorcycle Association Riders from all over Missouri pulled together for the Annual Memorial Weekend Ride to the 7 Missouri Veterans Homes.  Over 6300 miles was reported.  Although the weekend was overcast, the rain mostly held off until Sunday night.
Riders from District 2, 3, 5, 6, 8, 9 and 15 rode all or parts of the trip.  Jaime Cedeno, member of VFW Post 3168, Buckhorn, currently living in Junction City, KS joined us, logging over 1800 miles.
Residents of the homes were excited at our visit.  They went outside to look at the motorcycles and told us of their times riding.  We enjoyed talking with them and serving them breakfast, lunch or dinner depending on where we were.  Saturday was spent at Cameron, Warrensburg and Mexico.  Sunday was St Louis, Cape Girardeau andSt James.  Monday at Mt Vernon.
There is still time to donate for the ride until the end of June.  Money will be distributed then.
You don’t have to be a motorcycle rider to participate in this event.  Vehicles are welcome (I took my car as the original forecast was rain-didn’t want to get sick-didn’t work, got sick anyway).
Flyers for next years ride will be published in April.  Hope to see more participation!!

The ride was awesome the experience was surreal! Great Photos! I too would like to see more riders next year even if you can only ride one leg of the trip and/or to only one Veterans Home. It would have been great to have members of the Posts in the areas of each home to meet up with us at the homes. The Auxiliary really stepped up to the challenge and at one time outnumbered the VFW members on the ride!

  2. Geeeez Nancy! I especially liked the goofy one of me! But really, I had a gr8 time and am glad I went. See ya same time next year
