Welcome to North Carolina’s District 6, Veterans of Foreign Wars. We are located right the center of the state and near lots of things to see and do. Our posts include Yanceyville, Durham, Mebane, Burlington, Durham, Chapel Hill, Butner, and Henderson.
The North Carolina Veterans of Foreign Wars has a rich tradition of serving veterans, military families and their local communities. We have been doing this for over one hundred years. We are the oldest continuously operating combat veterans’ fraternal organization. We are chartered by Congress as a War Veterans organization and are a non-profit charitable organization under IRS IRC 501(c)(19). That means that donations made to our veterans is tax deductible. We invite you to explore this website and our entire VFW North Carolina network of sites to learn more about our organization.
What are we up to? Take a look at our LATEST NEWS blog for district information. District posts provide leaders for service in the district and state levels.
Our members and their Ladies Auxiliaries are busy. You will find them at local town fairs, celebrations, Hoedowns, and community events. They lead or participate in parades in Graham, Yanceyville, Timberlake, and Rougemont. They speak at schools, community centers, and hospitals. They visit the sick and long-term care patients at the VA Medical Center. They visit veterans in local hospitals and help veterans receive VA services.
If you are a veteran and would like to join the VFW, we invite you to fill out our Join the VFW form.
