NOTE DATE CHANGE FROM MAY 4TH DUE TO A SCHEDULING CONFLICT

It is that time again.  We gather before the annual convention to recognize posts and their contributions to the Veterans of Foreign Wars.  We’ll also review proposed resolutions and consider any before the District.

We meet at C. V. Cummings Chapel Hill Post 9100.  Posts are encouraged to bring their post colors and arrive by 10:30 a.m.  The joint session will start at 11:00 a.m., followed by lunch at 12 noon.  Business sessions will start promptly at 1:00 p.m.  The post meets at the American Legion located at 1714 Legion Rd., Chapel Hill, NC  27517

PA140047Please let Post 9100 know how many comrades and Ladies Auxiliary members will attend.  Cost per person is $7.00.  This is very important and will help ensure that the District does not over order meals.  Posts are responsible for the reservations made.  The post will work with all post commanders to provide additional meals, if needed.  Contact the District Commander with your meal count by April 26th.  Click here to R.S.V.P.

Elections are held for the new post year at all of our posts, but we will also need to select and elect our new district officers.  All positions are open and posts are encouraged to motivate top performing members to serve as a district leader.  Learn more about how to be a leader in the VFW by reviewing these items:

  1. VFW Department of North Carolina Bylaws
  2. VFW National Bylaws – Explains operation of the VFW and provides information on duties of all officers.  Copies are maintained at each post.  Additional copies may be ordered from the Department of North Carolina Quartermaster
  3. Growing Our Posts – Information and ideas on developing our posts
