It was a great way to usher in Spring and support hometown patriotism in Rougemont.  This was our sixth year of leading the local parade with our national flag and Veterans of Foreign Wars post and district colors, as well as the POW/MIA flag.

People lined Bacon and Red Mountain Roads to applaud our veterans and to say “Thank You” for their service.  VFW NC District 6 members from Yanceyville Post 7316, Durham Post 2740, and Chapel Hill 9100 lined the road with four golf carts and one shiny pickup truck.  All were colorfully decorated with flags and banners announcing the riders as “local war veterans.”
