Veterans Day Ceremony Thank You Note

Subj:Veterans Day Ceremony 2012
Greetings to you all,
It is my pleasure to tell you that we have received over whelming news and remarks from everyone, that, veterans were honored and felt at home in the City of Mebane, November the 11th. I cannot think of one part of the ceremony that was better than the rest. All that is needed is for you to have enjoyed this, as much as I did, and you would have been blessed. I am so thankful to have had the opportunity to meet you all and work with such a fine assortment of professionals. The weather was perfect; thank you Lord. It was a great success.

Some of you may have seen this on my facebook, if not, I want to share it here:

For the first time since Vietnam, my Veterans Day was filled with patriotic spirit. The ceremony that took three months to arrange was truly an American experience to enjoy, and be a part of from start to finish. It was my healing. Vietnam was my being ashamed to be seen in a naval uniform. Yesterday, and today, seemed to turn back the clock of events for me. I want you to know I was humbled to see my fellow American veterans finally admired and acknowledged for their service.

As the Triad Patriot Guard Riders stood their post, flags in hand, steady and unshaken; I was compelled to walk the line, shake every hand, and thank them for being here. I was extremely blessed and so pleased to have my brother Eddie, also a Patriot Guard, alongside me.

Wife and family present, was my undoing, tears caused me to walk away for a moment to reflect on memories long remembered.
I salute you all,

En Dieu est mon espoir,
