Joe Wagner Post dedicates Memorial

Joe Wagner VFW Post 7313 has been actively pursuing the creation of a Veterans Memorial Garden at our current location, 219 West Street, Pittsboro, North Carolina. The Memorial is located at the front of our Post building and includes flags with lighting for the USA and the five armed services. There are also two granite park benches and Path of Honor Walkway. A large granite monument has been ordered and will be installed in the coming months.

This project has been underway for several years during which the Post has been able to design the space, build a retaining wall, install the flags, benches and Walkway and landscape the Garden, all while maintaining post expenses and completing projects for our veterans in need.

To commemorate the progress thus far, the Post held a ceremony on Tuesday, 14 June 2016 at 6:00 pm to honor the memory of the veterans to whom the recently-installed marble benches are dedicated. Photos of the event can be found here in our Photo Gallery.

If you wish to support this project, in return for donations, the Post offers engraved pavers to be installed in the Path of Honor Walkway in recognition of the veterans of our community who have so patriotically served our country. The funds raised will be used to complete the Memorial Garden itself, as well as to renovate and expand our Post building to provide a proper Veterans Meeting Center.

Clicking this link will take you to a donation submission form to order the pavers, specifying the text to honor the donor’s chosen veteran.
