VFW 7313 participates in the Siler City Veterans Day parade.

For the Veterans of VFW Post 7313 in Chatham County, North Carolina Veterans Day is more than just a one-day event.

Our Comrades kicked off Veterans Day on Friday, November 7th with Buddy Poppy drives in several locations throughout Chatham County, raising funds to help Veterans in need.

Saturday, November 8th was a big day for VFW Post 7313. We proudly marched in the Siler City Veterans Day Parade! There was a great turn out at the event and we appreciative of all the support from both the Town of Siler City and the patriotic Americans who showed up to show their support!

The Comrades of VFW Post 7313 then attended a memorial service held by the West Chatham Veterans Committee at the Veterans Memorial in Bray Park in Siler City after the parade. The service provided both Veterans and the community an opportunity to reflect on the service and sacrifice of our Veterans.

After the service our Veterans fanned out to man our Buddy Poppy stations! The Veterans of VFW Post 7313 conducted Buddy Poppy drives in every town and major population center in the county!

On Veterans Day itself, we were at it again! We had multiple Buddy Poppy locations throughout the county, manned by Veterans from every American conflict from WWII to Iraq and Afghanistan – and everything in between!

We also received a call for help from a local Veteran in need, and we organized, planned, and are reaching out to help this Veteran!

All in a day’s work for VFW Post 7313, Chatham County, North Carolina!

We’d like to extend a special thanks to our partners who made this weekend possible.
