He has been interviewing Chapel Hill post members for several years.  You would often hear him say, “I just did my 25th interview, when can I interview you?”  His count went to 30, 40, 50…and now over 100 interviews of living veterans.  There are thousands of stories from thousands of veterans yet to be recorded and he is bound and determined to do as many as possible.  He recently said, “I’ll do it as long as I can drive…”

Rusty has a simple formula.  You just sit back and relax as he sets up his tripod and mini-videorecorder.  Then it is time for a chat on any subject you want to share.  It is your time to share your life’s experiences with family and friends and the State Archive.  Rusty will prepare multiple copies of your interview and you can give them to family members.  This is your opportunity to tell your story.  Out of the Chapel Hill area?  Not to worry.  He will travel.  Contact him and tell him you are ready to tell your story.  Email Rusty Edmister
