Veterans Memorial at Chapel Hill  0

A small band of local Chapel Hill veterans joined together in the fall of 2009 to petition the Town of Chapel Hill for a Veterans Memorial at Chapel Hill.  Many of the initial members were members of C. V. Cummings Chapel Hill Post 9100.  We led the way and joined in the petition for a veterans memorial for our town.We are making progress and it is getting closer to reality.  That is one of our civic duties as we reach out to serve the Chapel Hill veterans and their families.

The Veterans Committee  has is a website with information on other veterans memorials in North Carolina, why we feel we need a memorial, and a growing list of veterans, living and dead, who came back to Chapel Hill and North Carolina.

They came and helped build our community.  We list them as an example of the many men and women who not only served their country, but Chapel Hill, Orange and Durham Counties, and the state of North Carolina.

Take a walk with us over just a small part of the Chapel Hill Memorial Cemetery.  Watch our video.
