CHARLES P. “CHUCK” WILSON Biography

                                 Biography

Charles P. “Chuck” Wilson is an Aerospace Business Consultant with the Goyak Group and a business executive, who has been with L-3 Communications as a Director of Business Development for airborne ISR sensors, and also with Raytheon Corporate Business Development where he was the Senior Corporate Business Development lead: Air Intelligence Programs. 

Chuck Wilson served in key positions at the Pentagon on The Joint Staff; in Office of the Secretary of Defense; and at the Department of State where he led US delegations to facilitate diplomatic arrangements for US Forces to deploy Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom.  The assignment at State was a key position following the 9/11 attacks upon the US.  Wilson was also the U.S. Special Negotiator regarding U.S. forces on British Overseas Territories such as Diego Garcia.  

Wilson, a USAF Colonel, Ret., completed a distinguished Air Force career that spanned the Cold War, the Gulf War including Operations Desert Storm; Enduring Freedom, and Iraqi Freedom.  Wilson has piloted a wide variety of Air Force aircraft with most of his time in the U-2 reconnaissance aircraft which he piloted highly classified and dangerous missions around the world.  Additionally, he served as a U-2 Instructor pilot, Flight Commander, commander (Chief Executive) of U-2 Squadrons at Taif Air Base (4402 RS), Saudi Arabia, and Osan Air Base (5RS), South Korea.  Wilson was also the Commander of the Air Force Command & Control (C2) Center of Excellence that became 505th Command & Control Wing, at Hurlburt Field, Florida.

Wilson’s pro bono charity endeavors are: the elected Commander and Executive Director of Veterans of Foreign Wars District 10-Virginia’s largest district with over 8,000 veteran and auxiliary members; past Commander of VFW Post 7916 in Occoquan, VA, where he achieved “All State” and “ALL AMERICAN” status-Only the top 0.04 percent of VFW Posts worldwide have achieved; and  Chairman of the Potomac Region Veterans Council .  The VFW mission is to serve our nations veterans, the military, and our local communities.  

In his spare time, Wilson serves on the Board of Directors of the Cold War Museum and also is a Docent and Military Aviation Lecturer at Smithsonian Air & Space Museum. Frequent speaker, and, featured commentator on the Smithsonian Channel’s “Air Warriors” program.  

Wilson, a rated Air Force Command Pilot, has a Bachelor of Science Degree from Indiana University, a Master of Science Degree from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, graduated from the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, the Armed Forces Staff College, the Air War College, and was the 1997 National Defense Fellow who wrote the book, “Strategic and Tactical Reconnaissance in the Near East”
