Jacob J. Pearson VFW Post 637 is located in Hopewell, VA.  One of the Fifteen Posts within District 3, Post 637 is one of the most dynamic within the Department of Virginia evidenced by its selection as both All-State and All-American for the reporting year of 2014-2015.  Post 637 is situated near to Fort Lee.  Fort Lee is an Army Post and home of the Sustainment Center of Excellence.

Each year Post 637 leads the celebration for Memorial Day at the City Point National Military Cemetery and supports American Legion Post 146 for Veterans Day at the same location.  The Post also conducts a yearly event to honor some of those in the local community through Soldier of the Year, Boy Scout of the year, Patriots Pen, Voice of Democracy, Police Officer and Deputy Sheriff of the year and Firefighter of the year.   Things that are important to the VFW and this Post include community service, Americanism, Patriotism.  We further honor those that have served and sacrificed for our freedoms and liberties, as well as those that are still serving.
