Past Commander Tomcek obit

Sadly we report the passing of immediate Past Commander Bill Tomcek of Burns Post 388. Obituary and online guest book are located HERE. Comrade Tomcek moved quickly into leadership positions in the Burns Post, serving for three years as commander. He led the Post during a critical time of the clubhouse remodel project and rebranding of the business. Upon the end of his term, his leadership was recognized at the Department level and Commander Kutschma appointed him scholarship chairman, which he accepted with his usual enthusiasm. This fall, he entered the hospital for a side ache and never came home. Commander Bill will be deeply missed by his comrades, the Scouts he worked with through the VFW, as well as his family. Visitation will be Friday at the Weston Brainard Funeral Home. Funeral and burial will be on Saturday.
