Student Veterans Advocate appointed

Jim Maas, member of Burns Post 388 of Wausau, has been appointed District 7 Student Veterans Advocate by District Commander John “Trapper” Schultz.   The Student Veterans Advocates will work with the State Chairman to set up visits so the VFW can help strengthen its relationship and learn of the needs of today’s veteran students. This will also allow the VFW to inform students of programs available to them and how they can help. The Veterans of Foreign Wars intends to learn about issues medical, socially and emotionally that they are dealing with. Maas helped organize the UWSP Veterans Club and was the club advisor for two years.
