Limited Ticket $30,000 Vehicle Raffle Is Underway!

Since our recent State VFW Midwinter Conference, raffle tickets have been distributed to participating Wisconsin VFW Posts as we set out to secure additional funding for our State Veterans Service Office and other supporting projects serving Wisconsin Veterans. If your Post does not have tickets to sell, please contact your District Commander. Ticket sales are limited to 30,000 only, so the odds are very good for participants. In addition to a $30,000 top prize which may be used toward a vehicle of your choice from one of Wisconsin’s largest auto dealerships, Bergstrom Automotive, there are also other cash prizes to be awarded as well. If you are a friend of Veterans, please contact your nearby VFW Post and ask for a ticket. The $10 ticket price is a small enough risk but adds up fast to make a big difference in our ability to take care of all Wisconsin Veterans! Thank you for your support! Wisconsin GI Bill Update! Department of Veteran Affairs

Beginning in the Fall Semester of 2013, Veterans who have established and maintained status as a Wisconsin resident for at least 5 consecutive years immediately preceding the beginning of any semester or session for which the student registers at an institution may qualify, even if they were not residents of Wisconsin at the time of entry into a qualified period of “Active Duty” under Title 10 orders. Commemorate the Korean War 60th with a “Pancakes for Patriots” breakfast July 27

All Korean War veterans are invited to attend the ceremony at the Korean War Veterans Memorial. Age and distance, unfortunately, will prevent most from attending, but you can still help commemorate their day by hosting a “Pancakes for Patriots”-type event at your VFW Post to honor and educate local communities about the service and sacrifices made by so many of our VFW members and their families.
