                                                          APRIL-2012 NEWSLETTER Greetings Members and Friends of Greendale VFW Post 10519, SINCE OUR LAST NEWSLETTER:   At our March Post meeting we welcomed two new members, Brian Bird and Steve Sahs. We also did a swearing in ceremony for these two new members plus two recently signed new members, Terry Barrington and Richard Carr. Happy to have you all as Post members and glad you could attend the meeting. The Post has sent condolences and a donation to the family of Henry Zydowicz. Henry was a World War II veteran and Post member, he passed away February 27th at the age of 92. We also would like to extend get well wishes to Al Meyer, Jose Mendez, Harold Khehnel and Andy Garraghan. On March 25th Quartermaster Ken Kieck, Adjutant Mike Kieck and myself assisted Ralph Steffens our VAVS representative in taking twenty Veterans from the VA Hospital to an Admirals Hockey game. Newsletter March 2012

                                                          MARCH-2012 NEWSLETTER Greetings Members and Friends of Greendale VFW Post 10519, SINCE OUR LAST NEWSLETTER:  My wife and I enjoyed a two week vacation in Puerto Vallarta Mexico. It is an annual event meant to get away from our Wisconsin winter. There was no winter to escape from this year but it was still good to get way for awhile. Sorry I had to miss the February meeting. I understand our Senior Vice Bill Pekrul did a fine job in conducting the Posts affairs in my absence. CURRENT EVENTS: The members are currently in the process of updating our Post By-Laws. Our current by-laws are ten years old and it has been recommended that we update them and get them approved by National. We will be reading the By-laws for the third and final time at the March meeting and at that time will we will take a vote to approve the updated … Continue reading

Newsletter February 2012

                                                          FEBRUARY-2012 NEWSLETTER Greetings Members and Friends of Greendale VFW Post 10519, I hope everyone had a happy Holiday season. As of this writing we are well into what has been a very mild winter for Wisconsin, I personally hope it continues. SINCE OUR LAST NEWSLETTER:          Andy Garraghan remains at the VA hospital. Once again we send best wishes to Al Meyer and Gil Parazinski who are both currently dealing with some health issues. And I can happily report that Ralph Steffens is back home after a lengthy stay at the VA.   We also would like to welcome two new members, CHARLES BREITZMAN and RICHARD CARR. And we want to welcome a transfer member, JAMES COOK. Glad to have you all onboard.   Our current Post Service Officer, Andy Garraghan is currently unable to perform the Service Officers duties. Newsletter January 2012

                                                          JANUARY-2011 NEWSLETTER Greetings Members and Friends of Greendale VFW Post 10519, SINCE OUR LAST NEWSLETTER:            There was not a regular Post meeting December.   In early December I received notice from VFW National Headquarters congratulating the Post for the distinct honor of achieving the goal of over 100% membership for 2011-2012 year. Congratulations and thanks to all the members and officers who contributed to membership recruitment and retention. Thanks to all of you.    On December 3rd members of the VFW and Legion meet at the Post for a Pearl Harbor remembrance program.   On December 10th he Post had our annual Christmas Dinner. It was attended by 64 people, a very nice turn out. The food and drink was very good and the many home made deserts and appetizers were excellent.
