                                                                                       U. S Army My military service started with basic training at Fort Riley, Kansas.  I was trained as a radio operator with the 1st. Company 10th. Mountain Division and later transfered to Fort Lewis, Washington.  After that I spent a tour of duty in Korea stringing wire to various battery placements.  In 1954 I was assigned to H. Q. Battery in Osan, Korea.  This was the 398th. AAA Battery that encircled K55 air force field.  I was stationed here for 16 months – June, 1953 to October, 1954. Upon my return to the USA I married my wife Dorothy.  For the next 30 years I was a Milwaukee Policeman attaining the rank of lieutenant.  During this time I received BA Degree from Marquette University and a Masters Degree from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee.  I built my own home with the help of my two sons.  I spend the Winters in Florida with my wife of 55 years.

Ladies Newsletter November, 2012

                                                      Dear Sisters, Thank you Ladies for your support by the great attendance at our October meeting. There are still empty chairs, please consider joining us at our meeting on the 4th Monday of the month starting in January.  The December meeting is the Christmas Party/Dinner on December 1st. In an effort to improve communications we have an Auxiliary e-mail address. It is-  lavfw10519@gmail.com. Please use it for any comments,  questions, concerns or any other communication related to your Auxiliary. Our Auxiliary has a new fund raiser. “Reflective Wrist Bands“. See the attachment in this newsletter for details. It will be successful only with your help. Greendale Visitors Center generously will allow us to display and sell the bracelets on November 23rd and Saturday December 1st. These two days are the busiest shopping days in the Village. Greendale VFW Post #10519                                                       NOVEMBER-2012 NEWSLETTER Greetings Members and Friends of Greendale VFW Post 10519, SINCE OUR LAST NEWSLETTER:    It is with great sadness that I have to inform you on the passing of yet another member. Gil Parazinski passed away on October 11th, his funeral was held on October 18th, 2012. Gil was  a long time member and very active in both the Legion and VFW. Our condolences to Gil’s family. The Post would also like to extend get well wishes to Stan Krolicki who was hospitalized this past month. Get well soon Stan.   There is a group currently meeting to erect a Veterans Memorial in Greendale. Greendale is one of the last communities in this area to not have a Veterans Memorial.  I will keep you posted as things progress.
