Ladies Newsletter March 2013

                                                      March 1, 2013   Dear Sisters,     I filled in for President, Nancy at our Feb.25th meeting. We are very fortunate to have a great group of hard working ladies in our Auxiliary. It was fun sitting in the big chair again.   The 4th District meeting was held in Oak Creek, on Feb. 24th at noon. The 4th District winners of the Voice of Democracy and Patriot’s Pen Essay Contest gave their Speeches. Greendale High School Voice of Democracy winner, Brittney, won 3rd place in the 4th District. Rose Irwin, Greendale Middle School Patriot’s Pen winner, won 1st place in the 4th District Competition. Congratulations to them and their families.   It’s time to work on the year end reports. Please bring your Community  Service volunteer hours and donations to the March 25th meeting. Awards will be given at the June Dept. Greendale VFW Post #10519                                                       MARCH-2013 NEWSLETTER Greetings Members and Friends of Greendale VFW Post 10519, I will start this Newsletter on a sad note, long time member and friend of the Post Stan Krolicki passed away. Stan left us on February 18th at the age of 91. Stan served the Post for well over decade as our Chaplin. Our condolences to his family, he will be missed. My wife and I returned from a two week vacation on March 3rd. We missed the Post meeting on February 25th. Thanks to Senior Vice Bill Pekrul for running the meeting in fine fashion during my absence. At the February meeting members voted to donate $300.00 to the  Miguel Quintanilla Fund at the VA Credit Union. Miguel and his wife lost their son in a house fire in Milwaukee. Both Miguel and the mother are Navy veterans and Miguel works at the VA. We hope them … Continue reading
