Dear Sisters, May has arrived, bringing us close to the end of this Auxiliary year. Thank you to all officers and members for another successful year. However, our work is not done! May is an extremely important month for our Post and Auxiliary. Community Poppy Days will be held May 9th and 10th. If you have not signed up and wish to participate, call our “Poppy King” Roger Volland 414-430-8033 for dates and times available. Also, Miller Park Poppy distribution May 30th, 31st and June 1st. See Commander Johns’ newsletter for important details. The more participation, the more we can do for our Veterans! Super attendance at our April meeting, which was also election of officers. Officers for 2014-2015 are as follows. President-Nancy Ustruck, Sr. Vice.-Amanda Patterson, Jr. Vice-Elaine Kriesel, Treasurer-Kristie Milne, Chaplain-Marilyn Volland, Conductress-Karen Janezic, Guard-Shirley Meyer, 3 year Trustee-Julie Pipke. MAY-2014 NEWSLETTER Greetings Post Members, and Friends of Greendale VFW Post 10519, May begins an important and busy time of the year for our VFW Post. This is our main FUND RAISING month. Our community Poppy distribution is on Friday May 9th and Saturday, May 10th. We had a signup sheet at the April meeting and the response was very good but we still have some open spots. If you haven’t signed up yet we could use your help. Contact Roger Volland at 414-430-8033 and he can set you up with a time and location and answer any questions you may have. You don’t have to be a Post or Auxiliary member to participate, two to four hours on one or both days, or longer if you can. Chairs will be provided as well as the Poppies and donation buckets. All the money we take in is disbursed throughout the year to Veterans or local Veteran’s groups. We have three days at the end of the month at Miller Park. The Brewers games are May 30th, 31st and June 1st. … Continue reading
