NOVEMBER-2016- NEWSLETTER Greetings Members and Friends of Greendale VFW Post 10519, The autumn season is winding down and now we begin our transition into winter. Not a good thought for many of us. It is with a heavy heart that I have to report to you the passing of Ralph Steffens. Ralph passed away at the Union Grove Veterans Home on October 20th. Ralph was laid to rest on November 3rd, 2016 at 1 pm with full Military Honors at the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove.. Several Post members, Auxiliary President and I attended to pay final respects. Ralph volunteered at the VA in the Veteran Volunteer Services. Ralph had endured many health issues for many years, rest in peace. We would like acknowledge and welcome two VFW transfer members to our Post, Art Olszewski and Terry Finger. Nancy and I have known both of these Veterans for a long time and are happy to welcome them to the Post. November 5th is the Milwaukee Veterans Day Parade in downtown Milwaukee. Auxiliary Newsletter November, 2016

Greetings Brothers and Sisters, It’s the most wonderful time of the year. That’s right, THANKSGIVING and CHRISTMAS are fast approaching. Time to give thanks for all the many blessings we receive daily, and time to spend precious moments with family and friends. So mark your calendar for Saturday December 3rd for the VFW annual Christmas Party. Complimentary drinks, hors d’oeuvers, dinner and gifts. All for only $15.00 per person. Bring a guest if you like, if they are eligible for the VFW or Auxiliary all the better. Festivities begin at 5:30. Please send in your reservation by Thursday, November 28th.
