DECEMBER-2016- NEWSLETTER Holiday Greetings Members and Friends of Greendale VFW Post 10519, This is the time of year when we usher in the winter season, usher out the calendar year and celebrate Christmas. Celebrate we did, last Saturday, December 3rd was the Post Christmas party/dinner. It was well attended by over 80 guests. The food and beverages were very good and the joy of the season was everywhere. Thanks to Marilyn Volland for all her work in providing gifts for the guests and to all who contributed to the evening’s festivities. During the evenings activities the Post presented a check of $750. to VAVS representative John Ziegler. John is representative of the Volunteer Services at the Zablocki VA. Each year at Christmas time the VA gives John a list of names of extremely needy veterans families, John interviews them and gives them money for Christmas. The money comes from donations. Auxiliary Newsletter December, 2016

Greetings Brothers and Sisters,   Thank you to everyone that joined in the fun at the VFW Christmas Party. A special thank you to all auxiliary members and wives of post members for the outstanding tables of hors d’oeuvres and desserts. Daniel’s Catering once again left no guest hungry.   At our November meeting, along with our Voice of Democracy and Patriots Pen finalists and families, we were honored to have in attendance Milwaukee County Circuit Judge Branch 33, Judge Carl Ashley. He attended to thank the Auxiliary and Post for contributions made to the Milwaukee County Veterans Treatment Initiative. He also explained the mission of this program and its importance to successfully support our veterans.   Auxiliary members are invited to assist the post in Wreaths Across America on December 17th. We will meet at the post, 10:00 AM. December weather usually is COLD, dress accordingly.   It is with great sadness to report the passing of our auxiliary sister Linda Kirschling, on Wednesday, November 24th.
