Auxiliary Newsletter May, 2019

Greetings Brothers and Sisters of VFWA 10519,


April was an important meeting for our auxiliary, nominations and elections were held so we will be ready to begin the new auxiliary year after department convention in June. Elected officers for the 2019-2020 year are as follows. President: Nancy Ustruck,

Sr. Vice: Amanda Patterson, Jr. Vice: Carla Wright, Treasurer: Julie Pipke, Chaplain: Marilyn Volland, Conductress: Karen Janezic, Guard: Shirley Meyer and 3 Year Trustee Susan Koehler. Appointed positions include, Secretary: Kathi Schmeling, Historian: Julie Wetzel, Patriotic Instructor: Jill Woznicki . Thank you to all the members that accepted a chairmanship for the many VFWA programs.

Installation will be held on Thursday, May 23rd. Please see Commander John’s newsletter along with the RSVP form which includes all the information pertaining to the installation dinner. Please RSVP by May 13th. Installation will take the place of our regular May meeting.


Friday May 10th and Saturday May 11th gives us the opportunity for poppy distribution in the community. Signup sheets were available at the March meeting, there are quite a few open spots. Again see more detailed information in the post newsletter. Please consider donating some time for poppy distribution. The more volunteers makes poppy weekend successful! The post is very generous to our auxiliary and our assistance is truly appreciate our working together.


May 27th Village of Greendale will hold the annual Memorial Day Parade. The Parade will step off at 9:00 A.M. . A Memorial Day Program will be held at Greendale High School at 10:00 A.M., followed by a pancake breakfast at the American Legion Memorial Hall. The breakfast will be held 8:00A.M to Noon. Hope to see a good turnout of participants and spectators. Flags will be distributed along the parade route by auxiliary members and their families. (Flags compliments of the VFW Post)


June 12th-June 15th Department Convention will be held in Appleton, at the Red Lion Paper Valley Hotel. With all your hard work this year I hope to return with many awards. Plan on attending the June 24th post and auxiliary meeting see YOUR awards and hear what’s new for the 2019-2020 auxiliary year. Carla Wright and I will be representing 10519. Convention is open to ALL. If interested, please check the VFWA website for detailed information, the VFW newspaper or call me! Look forward to hearing from you.


Last reminder to please consider donating a few hours for poppy distribution May 10th and 11th, and send in your RSVP for dinner and installation on May 23rd.
