Auxiliary Newsletter November, 2016

Greetings Brothers and Sisters,

It’s the most wonderful time of the year. That’s right, THANKSGIVING and CHRISTMAS are fast approaching. Time to give thanks for all the many blessings we receive daily, and time to spend precious moments with family and friends. So mark your calendar for Saturday December 3rd for the VFW annual Christmas Party. Complimentary drinks, hors d’oeuvers, dinner and gifts. All for only $15.00 per person. Bring a guest if you like, if they are eligible for the VFW or Auxiliary all the better. Festivities begin at 5:30. Please send in your reservation by Thursday, November 28th. Veterans Day will be celebrated in Greendale November 11th and 12th. The Greendale Library will host a program Friday the 11th from 5:30-7:30 PM. Please show your support for the men and women that have served our country. On Saturday, the parade begins at 9:00 AM from the Village Hall to the proposed Veterans Memorial Site, followed by a brief ceremony.

 

Continue gathering baby items for the “Baby Shower” to be held at Mid-Winter Convention in February. (Discussed at meetings and previous newsletter)

 

November meeting we will recognize our Voice of Democracy and Patriot Pen winners and their families. There will be a short social time after their presentations, come show support for these fine young people. Our meeting will follow. Remember to bring a finger food to pass.

Condolences to our Auxiliary Sister JoAnne Wheelock on the passing of her brother post member Ralph Steffens. Continued prayers for Linda Kirschling battling major health issues.
