Auxiliary Newsletter November, 2017

Greetings Brothers and Sisters of VFWA 10519

Fall has arrived and with that well wishes go out to Annette Kuligowski and Virginia Roche-Orlowski as they struggle with health related issues. Also to those we are unaware of. Deepest Sympathy to Sandy Kieck on the passing of her Mother, Mary Smith.

I was informed AFTER our October meeting, the Greendale Library would have a display of Veterans Organizations in Greendale. Commander John and I worked together on a visual presentation with information on the purpose of our organization, accomplishments, membership and benefits.

Two opportunities to honor our Veterans will take place Friday the 10th, 6:00 P.M. at Greendale Library. A presentation ” Quilts of Honor”. Post members, Bob Birmingham and Frank Jennik will be the recipients, both comrades are World War II Veterans. Saturday, the 11th, a short Veterans Day parade will step off at 9:00A.M. See the post newsletter for detailed information.

Treasurer Julie Pipke was contacted by Associated Bank asking for a Veterans Display to be presented for the month of November. They also offered post and auxiliary members the opportunity to distribute poppy’s, not only Friday the 10th, (bank is closed Saturday for Veterans Day) but whenever a member would be willing to distribute. Julie and I put together a presentation.

November 27th meeting brings us to Voice of Democracy and Patriots Pen presentations and awards.

Join us in showing support for these young Patriotic Students and their families. A brief social will follow the presentations and awards, with our November meeting to follow.

Come one come all to the VFW Christmas Party Saturday, December 16th. See attached flyer for complete details. Christmas Party takes the place of our December meeting. The cost for members and guests is $20.00. Cocktails, hors d’oeuvers and dinner, along with door prizes and gifts from Santa’s helper Marilyn Volland.
