Greetings Brothers and Sisters of VFWA 10519,

Thanks to all that attended the August meeting and to Mandy for the ham sandwiches, desserts provided by Mandy and Jill. Social time is always the best part of the evening. Great attendance by our outstanding members.

Auxiliary members can receive the VFW News for $3 in 2020. This DEAL is available only through your auxiliary. If interested please sign up with Treasurer JuliePipke by November 25th.

This past Friday we had the opportunity for Poppy Distribution at Miller Park. Volunteers were few, I look at it as few are better than none. Thank You Sarah Berg,Jody Hahn, Ellen Crass and of course Myself. I can’t say no to the Commander when it comes to Poppies.

On Thursday, September 12th, the City of Greenfield will be dedicating a park to VFW Member Don Almquist, his wife Beverly is a member of our auxiliary. We will meet at the post 5:30, leave for the park shortly after. If you prefer to meet at the park, it is located at 4425 S. Honey Creek Drive.   Dedication takes place at 6:00. Consider joining us to show support and honor for all Don has done for the City of Greenfield.

VA Hospitals are in need of wheel chair and catheter bags. Hospital Chair Ellen would like to have a sewing bee, not a seamstress, join us cutting material, pinning or whatever Ellen needs. Material and sewing machines provided. This would be a Wednesday at the post. Date and time will be set at September meeting. Stay tuned, info in next newsletter.

We are sooooooo close to being 100% in membership. Renewals have gone out, if you have not done so please consider now. Only $18 for the year, or better yet become a life member. Never need to renew again! New members always needed and welcomed with open arms.

4th District meeting, Saturday the 14th. Chairman please have a report ready, copy for secretary and Department Mary Brown who will be paying her official visit. If you would like to car pool, meet at my home, 3812 S. 57th Street by 8:45. Meeting will take place at Vets Manor 3430 W.
